Portion and preparation guidance
A half-cup of dry oats cooked soft is a gentle base; making it with milk and stirring in Greek yogurt or protein powder fixes oatmeal's one weakness, low protein.
Symptoms or considerations
Instant flavored packets can add 10g or more of sugar. Very large bowls of any fiber-rich food can feel heavy when digestion is slowed, and plain oatmeal alone leaves protein on the table for the morning.
