We believe people shouldn't have to pay to understand what they can and can't eat while taking GLP-1 medication. Appetite changes, nausea, and food tolerance shifts are hard enough to navigate without a subscription fee standing between someone and a straight answer about whether chicken breast or a protein shake is going to sit well tonight. Our mission is to make evidence-informed food guidance freely available, and every food page, guide, and the grocery starter list will stay free to read, search, and download.
How the site is funded
Running a free site still costs money to host, research, and maintain, so GLP-1 Food Map is supported in two ways:
- Advertising. The site displays ads through Google AdSense. Ads are served by Google based on general context and are kept visually separate from food ratings and article content.
- Occasional affiliate links. Some links point to products we genuinely think are useful for GLP-1 grocery shopping, such as specific branded foods mentioned in the database. If you purchase through one of those links, the site may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
That is the entire monetization model. There is no sponsored placement that changes a food's rating, and there is no paid tier that unlocks additional food pages, guides, or the grocery list.
How we keep ratings independent from funding
Advertising and affiliate revenue never influence which foods are rated green, yellow, or red, or what a food page's portion and symptom guidance says. The criteria behind every rating are published on the methodology page, and the research basis for those criteria is listed on the sources page. If a brand happens to have an affiliate link on its food page, that page's rating was set using the same criteria as every unaffiliated food in the database. For the full legal language on advertising and affiliate relationships, see the affiliate disclosure.
What this means for you
You can use the full food database, every guide, and the grocery starter list without creating an account or paying anything, now or in the future. If ads or affiliate links are ever added in a new location on the site, they will follow the same rule: clearly separated from editorial content, and never a factor in how a food is rated.
